Reflection
Using Voicethread will be useful in my future classroom because it will allow me to be creative with my students, giving me an entertaining yet educational tool. This is definitely something upper level elementary students could do with their writing assignments for a fun project. Being able to make their stories come to life through voices and pictures of their choice will provide motivation to create a really good story because they know their classmates will be able to watch what they have done. It could also be a collaborative activity where they must work with a group of peers to create the Voicethread. However, I feel that the students would need a thorough tutorial from myself on how to use this technology because it was kind of difficult to figure out. I had issues figuring out where to record the audio for each slide as well as how to share it onto the Wiki website. I would set aside a day just for learning how to utilize the website and making sure the students fully understand how to operate it. After that, assigning Voicethreads for my future class should be easy and an exciting way for my students to be involved in technology considering it is such a huge part of society now. Students should be exposed to various types of technology in order to broaden their experiences and skills. Also, some students might learn more efficiently through the use of technology so attempting to provide differentiation for those students is vital. I hope to be the teacher who prepares their students for as much as possible and doing so with the help of technology like Voicethread.
